According to recent announced to be eliminated enterprise list by Ministry Of Industry and Information Technology, 84 tanneries were included that will be closed by the end of September, 18 tanneries located in Wenzhou city will face the eliminated fate to be ordered to close.
It is nature rule for outdated production to be eliminated, but leather processing is not the polluted industry, Wenzhou has drawn up a proposal to build a green leather processing base to prevent environmental pollution, said Xie Rongfang, secretary general of Wenzhou Footwear And Leather Association, adding that the industry should take further step on industrial transition and restructure.
It remains two months for these tanneries to close business, and severely punishment will be taken for those enterprises violated the regulation.
