NewYork fashion weekOver the past few seasons, G-Star has scaled back its runway shows considerably. Gone are the VIP Champagne service, moving runways, and plethora of random celebrities. Wait—scratch that last bit. In this season's front row, Jared Leto was deep in conversation with Alan Cumming, separated from Mena Suvari by current campaign face Gemma Arterton and a few actors from the cast of Skins. The clothes, now visible, were more compelling, and there was an emphasis on functionality. A leather fanny pack, almost as big as the teeny knit knickers it was worn with, had plenty of room to spare after your smartphone, MetroCard, and lip gloss were tucked away. Two bags slung over the shoulders were actually a vest, and a few of the men's puffers looked like they had inflatable collars (ideal if your plane crash-lands in the Hudson). The jeans had oversize pockets and a lived-in look; nothing too tight or ridiculously baggy. The feel, overall, was cozy (assuming those knit shorts are meant for indoor use only). After the white winter we've endured, which was evoked by a backdrop of a snow-covered Central Park, cozy is just the thing.
Fashion Brand: G-STAR | www.g-star.nl
G-STAR brand is built on a series of jeans based on the match, and our design philosophy is respect for the tradition but not by its limitations, the original rough style of mine but yet stylish, simple direct, but also take into account the actual functions, which G-STAR is the original cowboy style.
