Hair Spring/Summer 2011 A Tale Of Four Cities





AS the spring/summer 2011 fashion shows are drawing to a close, make-up artists and hair stylists alike are starting to reminisce over the the looks that have showcased in the four different cities (see yesterday's story for Tom Pecheux's take on colour this season).

Hair stylist Guido Palau has worked on more shows than most thus making his take on the trends invaluable.

At Yves Saint Laurent today he spoke of how the large "disco diva" hair he created in New York (see Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs) has slowly down-sized into a much neater, smaller silhouette (see Ungaro and YSL).

But as Guido explains they are both representative of the same woman: "Both styles, even though they are polar opposites of one another, have the same message of decadence, power and sophistication." And who wouldn't want to convey that?
