Alexandra Neel, the young talented designer was a ballet dancer for 15 years. It taught her the value of hard work as well as a taste for accurate detail. Through her creations, she tries to capture the most delicate side of a woman, to show the subtleties of the softness and fragility. She worked for Celine, Balenciaga and Nina Ricci before launching her own collection in Spring 2001. "I try to do something very different for stiletto addicts who are looking for something other than their usual Manolo or Jimmy Choo variety," says the designer. "I like the women who wear my shoes to be strong-minded, very feminine and very attractive, like the character of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct," says the designer. Rather than being influenced by any one designer, Neel cites her fellow dancers as a constant inspiration. "I branched out on my own; I am bringing my love of seductive lingerie, corset lacing, vintage lace, and sexy curves to my collection of high heels, which are embellished with the type of things most women reserve strictly for bedroom play.
